ambitious for the future
Chess Club is a successful addition to our school's extra-curricular activities. It is a popular weekly gathering of pupils from all year groups and all abilities.
It helps children to sharpen their strategic skills in a fun and educational environment.
Dedicated Rotary Club volunteers and our Year 6 Chess Mentors make our free, weekly drop-in sessions possible. Our Chess Mentors support children in learning the art of the game, as well as helping children make new friends from across the school.
This year's school Chess tournament was our most exciting yet! With an incredible 65 students participating - our highest number ever - the competition was intense, captivating and full of energy.
Every player brought great enthusiasm and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event.
A huge congratulations to all who took part - each child received a certificate to recognise their effort and commitment.
We'd also like to celebrate our finalists:
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated Rotarian volunteers, who give their time each week, and Mr Cross for organising and coordinating the tournament.
The finals were especially thrilling, drawing in staff and pupils alike to witness truly a memorable match.
Well done to everyone!
