Isle of Wight

In Year 5, we are lucky enough to have to opportunity for a two night, three day residential in the Isle of Wight.

We learn about coastal erosion and defences in Geography in Spring 2, so we use this as a chance to see coastal erosion in action. Our trip starts with a boat ride around ‘The Needles’ and a fieldwork experiment on the beach.

The second day of the trip sees us going on a walk through different areas of the island, shopping, playing in the woods, eating ice creams and enjoying the beach, before going back to the hotel for a disco.

We finish the trip by learning about royal history at Carisbrooke Castle. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn independence, resilience, teamwork and to have fun!
